Inspired by the passing of Jeff Daniel, a regular in the Street Stocks field at Grays Harbor Raceway. I had photographed Jeff on many occasions, but selected to show his car as it appeared during the height of the 2018 season. I tried to capture the complex paint scheme exactly as it appeared on his car — the correct colors in the correct places and even how the blending worked.
Just a few of the special points of interest include the subtle carbon graphite filter cover, the chrome wheels in motion and a proper spattering of clay that peppered the side of the car. Look closely at the slideshow below and you’ll see even more to appreciate.
A framed print of this artwork was selected for display in the Fine Arts Dept. during the 2019 Washington State Fair.
