Inspired by the Outlaw Figure 8 racing division at Evergreen Speedway — in this case, veteran driver Mike Steltz as the car appeared when the track celebrated its 60th anniversary in June 2014.
Just a few of the special points of interest include detail on the radiator, wheels, framework, proper level of wear/tear to the car and attention to the feel of the chrome parts. The complex window net was a project unto itself. It took much experimentation before I was satisfied with the translucent look of the plexi in the wings, back spoiler and especially how light coming through the small panel on the mid-body creates a color-cast to the side of the nose where the Sean Peters memorial graphic is. Look closely at the slideshow below and you’ll see even more to appreciate.
This beautiful high-quality giclee print is mounted in a custom 12×18 matte black metal frame protected behind non-glare acrylic and acid-free foam board backing .
