Inspired by one of the exotic De Havilland DH.89 Dragon Rapide examples I photographed in action during a visit to the Imperial War Museum in Duxford. This is meant to complement my other RAF subjects, including a Supermarine Spitfire, Hawker Hurricane and Avro Lancaster.
Just a few of the special points of interest include the beaten metal skins of the nacelles, complex rigging and the stretched canvas on the fuselage and control surfaces. Look closely at the slideshow below and you’ll see even more to appreciate.
This beautiful high-quality giclee print is mounted in a custom 10×25 matte black metal frame protected behind non-glare acrylic and acid-free foam board backing .
