Inspired by the Flying Heritage Collection’s beautifully restored Focke-Wulf, I adapted the markings to reflect a wartime Butcher Bird. As nice as this is, I’m not sure my grandfather would have been anxious to have a copy hanging on his wall… he saw enough of them through the gunsights of his B-17 top turret in the skies over Europe.
Just a few of the special points of interest include the canopy mechanics, subtle mottling and prop in action. Look closely at the slideshow below and you’ll see even more to appreciate.
This beautiful high-quality giclee print is mounted in a custom 12×18 matte black metal frame protected behind non-glare acrylic and acid-free foam board backing .
