Inspired by the Polikarpov I-16 Rata I saw flying during an Eastern Front air show as part of the Flying Heritage Collection’s Free Fly Day schedule.
I really liked how the body skin came out with a nice contrast to the metal cowling. The stretched fabric tail catching the light is also among my favorite sections on this project. Look closely at the slideshow below and you’ll see even more to appreciate.
This beautiful high-quality giclee print is mounted in a custom 10×20 matte black metal frame protected behind non-glare acrylic and acid-free foam board backing .
