Inspired by the B-17 Sentimental Journey that I have been fortunate enough to photograph in action on several occasions in Seattle, Olympia, Everett, Gig Harbor, Mesa AZ and at historic Willow Run. This was a project started in July 2023 inspired to be a gift for the fine volunteers that allowed me to get some special photos while it was in town for Seafair … then put on hold before being finally completed more than a year later in March 2025. Definitely worth the wait.
Just a few of the special points of interest include a nice reproduction of the Sentimental Journey nose art, fine detail on the metal skin, powerful engines and landing gear and the distinctive tinted top turret. Look closely at the slideshow below and you’ll see even more to appreciate.
This beautiful high-quality giclee print is mounted in a custom 10×30 matte black metal frame protected behind non-glare acrylic and acid-free foam board backing .
