Inspired by the vintage Travel Air that was stumbled on while visiting the Tillamook Air Museum. Even though it was after hours and there was no opportunity for him to sell us a ride, the gentleman stayed late and we shared a nice conversation that must have been a half hour as he proudly showed us all around his plane “Magic One”.
Just a few of the special points of interest include subtle rivet and tape work, intricate rigging wires, and attention to the fabric and metal skins. Look closely at the slideshow below and you’ll see even more to appreciate.
